The corn maze was great. It was at The Farm in Snohomish, WA. It was also shaped like the great state of Washington, so it also ended up being educational. Yay for education! Luckily my recent work in graduate school sure did help (to see the final published version of the paper, you can see it on this site - although you may have to dig around to find it).
After the fun in the maze (from Spokane to Gray's Harbor), we prowled the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect pulpy round fruit. Well we city folks kind of got carried away, although it was always sort of a dream of mine to see F carting around a wheelbarrow. Anyway, I think we got gouged on the price, especially discovering later that buying a pumkpin at the grocery store down the street was a third of the price. Oh well, at least it was for a good cause - local agriculture!
The fun thing about living in the Pacific Northwest is that once you carve a pumpkin you have about a week before it starts to decompose into pie filling.
Tomorrow is Halloween. Time for kids to dress up and be cute and adults to have an excuse to get drunk and look slutty. I love how this article atributes the increase in sluttiness to "terror attacks and sniper shootings."
