What's your squirrel?
Do you ever feel like you get fixated on one thing? I sometimes I feel like Sass staring at squirrels. Like I can't see anything else, including lamp posts or people or curbs or bushes. Just completely fixated. Sometimes it's a certain band, or a certain song, sometimes it's the thought of traveling to a new place, sometimes it's thinking about how I need to revacuum the new couch (due to earlier mentioned squirrel chaser).
But other times, I just get fixated on an idea. Like in my work when I think I know the solution to a problem and I dream about implementing it, regardless of other people's points of view. Is it due to uncontrollable forces*. Whatever causes it, I feel like it's one of those things that needs to be kept in check.
Actually, at the moment I'm fixated on finding interesting guest speakers for my class this quarter. I'm trying to do a "Usability in the Real World" series. So if you have suggestions, send them my way.
So what do you get fixated on? What's your squirrel?
*"Their organizational ability combines with their diligence to help them achieve, but they can be narrow-minded and over-critical of people not as ambitious as they are." - yikes
