Structuration
"...recognizes actors as knowledgeable and reflexive, their knowledge as reflexive and situated, and that habitual use becomes institutionalized."
Theory of structuration
I'm trying to argue that corporate internships reproduce solutions that are sanctioned by those corporations in turn creating knowledge that emphasizes globalism, profit and rote problem-solving.
I don't know if I'm convincing.
I'm also having fun on myspace, flicker and this here blog, which is not getting my paper written.

A few from above
Nothing is ever as good as it was
Camera pic of the bad juju from upstairs at Neumos. Right before LazyT, Ryan, Alan and I were blown away by darling Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins.
Lazy Toe fell hard for sweet acapella harmonizing of the Watson Twins. You can actually download all but one of their songs on the album from the Team Love Website.

The most fabulous crustacean
Just discovered and all dolled up: this furry lobster-like creature.

And again I wonder why science journalists enjoy comparing newly found creatures to the size of tableware. This fabulous lil guy is the size of a salad plate.
In pushing a pro-life lobster agenda, I also offer an article by David Foster Wallace titled "Consider the Lobster" that appeared in Gourmet magazine (an article about the article & link to the PDF). Replete with his signature footnooting, DFW considers, with humor and armed with scientific facts, the underlying anxiety our cultural feels about killing lobsters. It's a darn good read.
