Wedding Wine Advice
The Seattle Times had a good article about how to choose wedding wines, you can read the whole thing here.
I'm in the process of wondering what wine we should have at our wedding and am looking for additional advice. I guess I'm looking for ideas (besides wine in a box).
Do you have any?

I like the idea of keeping it local as much as you can [without breaking the bank]. Secret insider tip! Ste. Michelle's Dry Riesling, which is a really nice, versatile summer white (not sweet, but still Riesling-y!) and costs about $6 last I checked.
Depending on how formal you want the reception to be, and whether it would interfere with other gifting plans, but could one take an interactive, potluck approach? Everyone bring a bottle, not more than $10? This might be a better idea for a post-wedding party than for a reception, I guess.

You could use all wines from around the wedding site:

If you went with one local winery and had several different kinds of their wines (a merlot, a chardonnay, etc.), I bet they would give you a bulk discount.
With our crowd the plan is what, 2 bottles a person? ;-)

Mmmm. Big house red from Bonny Doon. Mmmmm. It's about $10 a bottle but I'm sure you could find it cheaper on the 'ninternet.

Awesome suggestions all! I like the local ideas
Karen that site you pointed out has some really great ones that are close to the wedding site itself. Very cool.
Also, that Seattle Times article points out that you should estimate 1/2 bottle for each guest. Knowing the thirsty-ness of my friends and the irishness :) of many of my relatives, does this seem like enough?

Will you have anything else to drink, like a keg? We apparently overestimated by a LOT; even though the work friends that came were big drinkers, we had wine and beer left over...So I'm thinking, if you have other alkyhol available, half a bottle per person is ok; otherwise, maybe you'll need more.

We're planning on having beer too- but not the hard stuff. And of course we'll have other non-alcohol bev's to choose from.

So maybe you could get like a case as backup, you know, not a real per-person increase, but have a good buffer stashed just in case. Or one could always always make a beer and Boone's run if need be. Surely there's like a Bait and Tackle nearby? :]

We had a tour at Chateau Ste. Michelle and then selected a red and a white from their offerings. There was a discount, but I can't remember how much. We too overestimated...but who doesn't like to have a few bottles of wine in their cabinet? 1/2 bottle/person will be plenty, I think.
