Happy almost spring

Is today officially the last day of winter, could that really be true? Did we survive the wind storms and the snow and the days of rain? Over the last couple days it seems like Spring is on the verge with it's smells, darting chirping birds, and bursting buds.

Many exciting things on the forefront here even though I haven't posted in so long. It's spring break, that week between quarters that feels like a momentary breathe of relief. Lots of wedding planning, some house hunting which is roller coaster-y indeed and is seeping it's way into my dreams. It feels like adulthood just caught up with me after years of travel, the never-ending presence of school life, and just worrying about being social and what to do next. This contemplation of mortgages and life time decisions is heavy indeed. But exciting nonetheless. Even the mundane details are somewhat exciting, although feel self-indulgent in many ways.

The anniversary of the war has been on the news, in the streets and on my mind. As pointed out by many others, the Iraq war has lasted longer than WWII. How can it really be 4 years? Good friend Jenn was at the protest in downtown Seattle yesterday and snapped this shot of our criminal(s) in chief.
